Electrical Power Engineer needed in Charlotte, NC for a premier manufacturer of specialty steel. The position will provide leadership in the selection, standardization, and deployment of Process Control and Data Acquisition equipment, instrumentation and Power Distribution. You should have experience with power distribution, transformers, AC/DC drives, arc flash studies and SCADA.
Responsibilities for the Power Engineer
Provide Subject Matter Leadership in all ARC-Flash Initiatives
Provide Subject Matter Expertise in Mfg Equipment Safety Standards
Lead energy management projects
Commissioning of Process and Control related systems
Govern and Sustain Process and Control MES Systems Standards, Specifications and Conventions
Provide Leadership in Safety Related Initiatives pertaining to Controls and Automation Manage Engineering Electrical and Arc Flash Projects
Requirements for the Power Engineer
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
Understanding of electrical fundamentals and safety practices.
Knowledge of power distribution and energy management
Breadth of knowledge pertaining to Sensors, Motion Control, PLCs and HMIs.
Proven knowledge of NFPA 70

years experience in manufacturig setting
