Cost Accountant

Job duties:

Responsible for cost accounting functions. Ensure that processes are documented and adequate internal controls are maintained. Perform variance analysis. Provide financial planning and analysis to support Operations and Engineering. Perform standard cost updates. Perform physical inventory of products, components, and fixed assets.

Prepare daily management report of key business metrics.
Analyze variances, including analyzing transactions using t-accounts; determine root cause and corrective action.
Prepare journal entries and review ledger for accuracy.
Conduct Fixed Asset audits.
Maintain controls in accordance with GAAP and company policies; identify weaknesses and implement corrective actions.
Maintain up to date process documentation. Identify and implement process improvements.
Assist with annual physical inventory of products and components.
Provide financial planning and analysis support of new products
Provide financial analysis in support of Operations and Engineering.
Perform standard cost updates.


Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, or Finance required. GPA 3.5 or higher preferred. Minimum of 2 years experience in Cost Accounting, and/or Accounting required. Standard cost experience preferred. BAAN or other ERP system experience preferred.

Crystal reports preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
