To Whom It May Concern,

I am interested in applying for your open positon for the open Administrative Assistant to the position at your school that I became aware from a recent listing.

I previously attended Appalachian State University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. I have been teaching Fifth Grade in Union County Public Schools for almost three years. However, it’s becoming more publicly known that North Carolina has encountered numerous hardships in retaining its professional educators. Unfortunately now, I have found myself to be one of many teachers looking for other career opportunities outside of education where I can apply my collective knowledge otherwise.

While I am currently a classroom teacher, working as an educator has taught me many effective team management and leadership skills. I have learned the importance of flexibility, professionalism and confidentiality in the workplace. I am an earnest worker with a passion for success that is driven by simple principles of organization and proactivity that I have since extended to many students. On top of my management and clerical experience in education I have over nine years of experience in the customer service and hospitality industry to offer as well.

As many deem it important throughout the world, I have also received extensive training in the work of Dr. Stephen Covey and is coveted work in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and how it correlates to Leadership among students and working professionals alike. I understand what it means to work with full integrity and to your utmost potential in and outside of a classroom or workplace environment.

I would appreciate the opportunity to interview for the open Administrative Assistant position and discuss how my personality, passions, experience and abilities can meet your needs. Thank you for your time and consideration.
