This is circa early 1900's. It was found in many pool halls across the country. It was made to keep the cue chalk available for the player's needs. The device hung from the ceiling, over the table. It would allow the chalk to come down within the player's reach., then go back up out of the way. The rope has been replaced over the years and everything else is original. The counter weight is cast iron. For those of you who have a copy of Mark & Connie Stellinga's Pool & Billiard Collectibles guide, a photo of this hanger is on page 69. Please see photos. 1 of the tires has good tread, the other 3 have poor tread. They can be used as a "spare" tire for emergencies, or you can mount your winter tires on the rims in time for winter instead of having to pay each time you have your mechanic mounts or removes your snow tires. $30 for the wheel with good tread, $15 each for the others, or $60 for all 4....
